Eight months already!

Colby is eight months old. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It seems like overnight, he turned into a "big boy". I haven't weighed him in a while, but I can tell you, he's heavy! I have the aching back each night to prove it.

Colby is a pro at eating. He eats just about everything we do . . . yes, even some of a taco salad from Taco Bell. He likes yogurt, cheerios, cheese and of course his rice cereal. Besides liking just about everything he eats, Colby is a fast eater. If there was a baby eating contest, you know, like those diaper derbies where the babies crawl & race, he'd win the first place trophy hands down. Oh, it was funny today. I was feeding him some cottage cheese with strawberries. He wasn't sure if he liked it so he started crying, but continued to keep eating it. Finally, towards the end, he decided it was good enough to stop crying over it. Then he cried when he finished it. He's so silly.

He's a babbler. He will say the "ma ma ma mom" even though I really would prefer he say the "da da dad" phrase instead. He's funny though, most of the time, his lingo of choice is "up up up" and "ight ight ight". Not quite sure what either mean to him, but they sure sound cute coming from him. His "ight ight ight" phrase takes on a higher pitch when he's holding his stuffed puppy dog, Poopy (we can thank Lexi for naming the dog that one), like he is barking at it. It's cute.

He's crawling now. I have a short video on my phone of him crawling for the second time (Chloe was the only one that saw the first crawl). I'm hoping to figure out how to upload it from my phone, then I'll post it - if and when I master that feat. He reminds me of a bunny when he crawls. Sometimes both legs will move at the same time.

I'm double posting tonight, so be sure and peek at him standing at his piano in the previous post.

Isn't it wonderful how they learn new things? It's great to document the changes, before you know it you'll be trying to remember what it was like having them so small... lol.

The speed at which my child transitions from one interesting stage to another equally but completely different stage astounds me. My task is simply trying to enjoy all of them. Congrats on the progress of the little one! :)
